Jared Diamond, a bird watcher, wrote a book called Guns Germs and Steel which is about how different parts of the world became more advanced than other parts. Jared diamond was in Papua new guinea, a remote island, where the native live in what seems like the stone age. One day a native asked Diamond "why do you have so much cargo and I don't. Diamond did not know the answer so he tried to find the answer.
New guinea is a very unpolluted environment.New Guineans think that white people are smarter and genetically more intelligent. Something important that Jared diamond said was " all great civilizations have had some things in common
-Advanced technology
-Large populations
-a well organized work force
In new guinea people mostly have two jobs hunting and gathering. the gatherers collect a food called wild sago, which is found in the middle of sago trees. This wild sago is an important source of food in new guinea.
Barely and wheat were an essential part of the rise in civilization in the middle east. Draa- the found remains of complex, oldest permanent settlement people lived in.
Granary- the worlds first form of containing food
